Target Communities

The organization primarily works with communities that are socially, economically, and structurally marginalized and excluded. These include women, children, Dalits, persons with disabilities, and other socially and economically disadvantaged groups. It also focuses on highly deprived and neglected communities such as Musahar, Lona, Mangta, Ghasia, Nat, Bedia, and Dharikar. Additionally, the organization works with children affected by sexual exploitation, providing them with special protection, counseling, legal aid, and rehabilitation support.

Pathways

Beyond legal interventions, our pathways include mobilizing panchayats, communities, and administrative systems towards active participation and collective efforts for building a peaceful and just society.

Focus and Approach

  • Social Audit: Promoting the process of social auditing to ensure institutional transparency and accountability.
  • Activation of Panchayats and Government Systems: Strengthening the role of local governance and government departments to enhance accessibility, effective service delivery, and accountability in public systems.
  • Community Awareness and Participation: Raising awareness among communities about their rights, government schemes, and public services while encouraging their responsive and active participation.
  • Formation of Empowered Community Groups: Establishing and strengthening women’s groups, adolescent girls’ groups, child rights platforms, and other community forums to enable them to play an active role in driving social change.
  • Access to Government Welfare Schemes: Ensuring community access to welfare programs by establishing coordination with panchayats and relevant government institutions, while reinforcing the accountability of public systems.
  • Women’s Leadership and Participation: Strengthening women’s participation in decision-making processes and promoting their active involvement in community-based initiatives and interventions.
